Coming from a farm in Northern, IA, Cody learned the honest way to earn a dollar, using nothing but the land and sparsely available resources that the Lord had to offer. Cody’s locally grown family sweetcorn businesses were the main sources of revenue during his college years. It was here where Cody learned that he wanted to combine his love for the outdoors and the land to fuel a career. After graduating from Morningside College with a B.A. degree, he knew that he wanted to work in an environment where he would help others reach goals while staying true to his passion.

In June of 2014, Cody became a licensed real estate agent who specializes in connecting buyers and sellers in both agricultural and recreational properties. Cody has since sold numerous tillable/investment tracts that have ranged from 18 to 1,622 acres, and has been fortunate enough to represent operators, investors, buyers, and sellers. Cody has experience working throughout most of the state, but spends most of his time focusing on his sales territory within Iowa Land Company. Cody has nearly 10 years of land real estate experience brokering 176 farm real estate transactions from 2014 to date totaling $148,000,000 in sales.

I want to thank Cody Skinner, and the entire team at Iowa Land Company, for their help selling my farmland in Grundy County Iowa. As an absentee landowner I had many questions and concerns about market conditions and the various methods and strategies of selling Iowa farmland. Cody provided detailed market analysis and comparable sales information (over several years) without imposing any pressure to sell. When I decided it was time to make the sale Cody explained various sale strategies and the pros and cons of each alternative. I decided a live auction would be the best choice and Cody quickly began the advertising process. When selling out-of-state property, problems can arise from not knowing the people who are selling the property, signing papers, updating the abstract and how to check on the progress of the sale. I did research real estate brokers in the area and decided on Cody Skinner with Iowa Land Company. It is a decision that I have never regretted!
